    Application Scenarios

Post-Fermentation Beer Holding: Store chilled, crashed beer prior to filtration/packaging without transferring to a fully pressurized bright tank

Winery & Cidery Use: Variable-capacity topping wine or cider; floating lid descends with evaporation/racking, keeping minimal air contact

Juice & Cold-Pressed Extract Storage: Food-grade SS304/SS316 contact, suitable for chilled fruit juice before blending or bottling

RO / Process Water Buffer: Large-volume intermediate water storage in beverage plants

Seasonal Overcapacity Solution: When bright tanks are full, float-top tanks absorb excess green beer or filtered product temporarily

Ideal for breweries wanting extra storage flexibility without committing to multiple fixed-volume pressure tanks.

    Effective Capacity 2000L / 3000L / 5000L / 6000L / 8000L (custom on request)
Type Open-top with floating pneumatic/vacuum lid (silicone seal ring)
Material SS304 (standard) / SS316L (wetted parts optional), mirror polish interior Ra ≤ 0.6 μm
Insulation Optional — PU 80mm for cold storage (glycol jacket NOT required; tank is unpressurized)
Floating Lid Food-grade silicone O-ring, balanced weight or pneumatic assist; follows liquid level
Manway Large side or top rim access for cleaning / inspection
Outlet / Drain Bottom TC outlet with sampling valve port
CIP Fixed spray ball (top rim mount) compatible
Legs Adjustable SS304 tripod, floor anchor holes
Certification CE / PED available; material certs (MTR) provided
Pressure Rating Atmospheric (not pressure-rated — for storage only, not carbonation)

Note: These tanks are non-pressure vessels. They are not substitutes for carbonating bright tanks.

    Key Features

    Zero Fixed Ullage
Floating lid moves with product level → no large air pocket → drastically reduces oxidation risk
    Volume Flexibility
Store 60% or 100% of nominal capacity without wasted headspace or needing multiple tank sizes
    4 (7)
    Easy Access & Cleaning
Wide open top allows manual inspection / fruit cap removal (cider/wine) and simplified CIP
    undefined
    Cost-Effective Expansion
Lower CAPEX than same-size pressurized bright tanks; perfect for buffer / holding duty
    Optional Chill Jacket
Although typically unjacketed, we offer external glycol wrap or dimple jacket for cold-storage applications
    4 (7)
    Sanitary Seal System
Food-grade silicone floating seal maintains hygienic barrier without mechanical complexity

    product Advantage

    3000L
    01
    Oxidation Control Without Pressurization
Floating lid keeps O₂ out better than loosely covered open tops
    0
    02
    Operational Flexibility
One tank covers varying batch sizes (e.g. 3500L in a 5000L tank
    3000L
    03
    Reduced Cleaning Chemical Use
Smaller wetted surface when partially filled; CIP still covers full interior
    3 (14)
    04
    Solves Bottleneck Periods
Absorb peak-season volume when bright tanks are occupied
    3 (13)
    05
    Simple Maintenance
No pressure valves, no PRV testing; mainly inspect silicone seal annually

    06
    Regulatory Ready
Full weld map & MTRs support FDA/EU food-contact compliance

    frequently asked questions

    1
Q: How is a floating-roof tank different from a bright beer tank?
A: A bright tank is a pressurized, sealed vessel used for carbonation, serving, and bright beer. A floating-roof tank is an atmospheric, open-top vessel with a descending lid — designed for storage and holding, not carbonation. It costs less and offers flexible volume but cannot hold pressure.
    2
Q: Can I store carbonated beer in a floating-lid tank?
A: No. Once CO₂ is applied, the seal must hold pressure — these tanks are atmospheric. They are best used post-fermentation, pre-carbonation, or for still products (wine, juice, flat beer before force-carb).
    3
Q: Does the floating lid really prevent oxidation?
A: Yes. The silicone-seal floating lid follows the liquid level, maintaining near-zero headspace. Unlike a loosely covered open top, there's no large air pocket for O₂ to accumulate, significantly reducing oxidation risk during holding/maturation.
    4
Q: Can this tank be cooled or insulated?
A: Standard versions are unjacketed and uninsulated. On request we can add external glycol wrap or dimple jacket + 80mm PU insulation for cold storage applications (e.g. crashed beer waiting for filtration).
    5
Q: What sizes are practical for a small brewery?
A: Most craft breweries add one 5000L or 8000L float-top tank to handle overflow from 10–20 BBL brewhouse cycles, or use 2000–3000L units for specialty holding (fruit beer, sour blend, etc.).
    6
Q: Is cleaning difficult with an open top?
A: No — in fact it's easier. The wide opening allows visual inspection, and a top-mounted spray ball provides full CIP coverage. The floating lid is removed or lifted during cleaning.
